Tour of "House With the Eye"
Tour of Healy House and Dexter Cabin
Tour of Delaware Hotel, followed by:

Performance by "Madams of Central Colorado" and dinner at The Delaware Hotel

Sunday
Tour of Hopemore Mine (600 feet down!)
Rockhounding in Mining District
Grab and Go lunch

FRIDAY

One of 3 intrepretive signs says "Stagecoach Road to Riches" and another asks "Whoever said getting there was half the fun?" across river from the Old Stage Road. You can see the hand-chinked trail from the west side of the Arkansas River.


Below, the Historic Hayden Ranch, 8.5 miles south of Leadville is a Historic Preservtion project of CMC. Tour buildings, corrals, and learn how its hay fed the animals that made
mining at Climax possible, and whose water power was harnessed to build most of the furniture for the town. A tour of the Hayden Ranch is set for Friday afternoon.

SATURDAY

Below, the Tour of the Mining District, a fascinating up-close look at the region that produced  so much wealth for so many, below.

 


Picnic Lunch and tour at the spectacular 
National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum at noon.

Afterwards, we will tour the Healy House Museum, recently "remodeled" for even more authenticity.


Dexter Cabin is a "real" log cabin moved from its original location near Twin Lakes.

Next we will tour the gorgeous Delaware Hotel where we will also have dinner.

SUNDAY

 Start your day with a tour of the Hopemore gold mine,
which reaches 600 feet underground, below. 
 

Explore the surrounding area for semi-precious
gemstones witih rock hounding expert, Joe Nachtrieb.

Grab and Go lunches will be available after the morning activities and prior to the Evergreen Cemetery tour. Lunch menu to come.

 
Wrap up your weekend with a tour of the Evergreen Cemetery, where many famous and infamous folks are buried, including "Texas Jack", whose tombstone is pictured above.
