& Celebration

Inside and outside of the Orpheum Theatre,
400 block of East Main Steet, Buena Vista
Join us for a fun, informational day, celebrating the efforts of local businesses and organizations helping to make your life "greener," and showing you ways to save money on food and energy!
This full-day event will be centered around the themes of:
Renewable Energy
Local Food Production
Sustanable Economic Development
Confirmed speakers addressing these topics are:
Randy Udall, "one of the nation's leading activists in promoting energy sustainability."
Quint Redmond, "an expert in the utilization of the land use concept, 'Agriburbia,' which integrates food production as an integral element in the community design, social network and financial viability of the neighborhood."
Michael Callahan, founder of PowerMundo, a Social and Sustainable Business in Renewable Energy, and manager of the first silver certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) recreation center in Boulder.

A panel of experts will discuss
"Restoring a Local Food Economy."

A trade show will showcase "green" businesses,organizations
and individuals.

A farmers market will offer locally-produced food
and other products.
The morning coffee break will be sponsored by Buena Vista Roastery.
The afternoon "wine & cheese" break will be hosted by Mountain Spirit Winery of Salida and Jumpin' Goat Dairy of Buena Vista.
Mother's Bistro will offer a variety of lunch choices for purchase.

A Community Mixer in the evening will feature local musical entertainment and beer and wine for purchase.

Cost for the all-day activities, including speakers, showcase and morning coffee break is $10, at the door. Cost for the Community Mixer only is $6, at the door.
This event is hosted by Colorado Mountain College and is sponsored in part, by Chaffee County.
